Principle - Laser Diffraction technique incorporating both Fraunhofer and
Mie theories.
 
Diode Lasers - Solid State. Much better temperature & voltage stability
(no warm-up time required)than He-Ne gas lasers.Compact inexpensive and long life (10-15 years) as compared to the bulky, cumbersome, very expensive and limited life (2-5 years) of He-Ne gas lasers.
